I'd dispute the term "progressive failure" on various grounds but I think I know what you mean.

Failure however is a relative term In football and we should remember that. I'm not saying that we should accept anything and everything without complaint until we're at the lowest point ever and only then should we call it failure, but we're far from irredeemable at the moment, and we've been a lot worse in the past.

I'd also take issue that we're a small club. Relative to a few, maybe, but we're one of the top 20 sides for support in the country and higher than that if you count away fans. That's not a small club.

So, a and b, and more, with caveats. That's my answer.
