I heard the most ridiculous commentator comment the other week....

...talking about how it makes the field "wider" if an athletic wide receiver can catch outside the field with his toes just in bounds. Commentator said "it's hard enough to defend the fade in the endzone, but if your guy can catch it three yards outside the sideline it's even harder".

Three yards. That's a bit wide receiver.
