agree with the last point, that it's certainly important to stay near the top

to hold on to Redmond and attract others.

If the board thought Adams was the right man in the summer though - and all the comments about scouring Europe suggests they strongly believe he is - then I think we would have to be performing really poorly for them to consider sacking him so soon.

We're not doing too badly overall, we're just on a poor run of form, and we're in a position where a good run of form could easily take us to the top of the league.

The heavy defeat yesterday could be important because the 'we played well but lost' excuse can't be used - so it may force a more pro-active response from Adams, which will tell us more about his tactical abilities.
