This whole KP/England thing seems ridiculous

There does not really seem to be a single accusation on either side that really amounts to anything except maybe if it is stood up that England players were behind the twitter parody account. If that's the case it should have been stopped but you can make a case for even that being the type of "banter" that you get amongst sports teams from time to time, especially ones who go on tour together for long periods.

Other than that what do we learn:

1. There may have been cliques in the dressing room (shock horror).

2. Bowlers don't like it when fielders drop catches off them or misfield and sometimes shout at them (shock horror).

3. Pietersen is probably a bit of a tw*t.

4. Graham Swann, Jimmy Anderson and Stuart Broad may also be tw*ts as well (hardly a huge surprise if the case - fast bowlers in particular are usually angry egomaniacs, especially on the pitch). Swann once massively took the piss out of a mate of a mate for coming from Norfolk in front of a whole team on the first occasion they'd met so i've always thought he's probably a tw*t.

5. T***s in the same dressing room will fall out from time to time.

6. the ECB made an almighty hash of dropping Pieterson. they drop players all the time often when its harsh to do so. They didn't need to compile this "dossier". Given what had happened in Aus they could just have said time for a fresh start and a different vibe in the dressing room.

All we are now getting are previously respected players and pundits being drawn into an almighty spat which does nobody any good. Even Agnew is losing the plot prompted by the odious Piers Morgan. Nobody who loves English cricket would want this but then Pieterson is not English so probably does not give a sh*t. He only played for England because it served his purpose and now he's no longer playing he is dragging English cricket through the mud again for his own gain/revenge.

There probably was a clique in the dressing room and maybe at times they did gang up on Pieterson but thats probably because he seems the sort of person who alienates people very easily. There will always be cliques and senior players and junior players in sports teams and banter. Sometimes inappropriate banter but the fact that this sort of thing is being talked about as "bullying in the workplace" is just another sad example of how sport is being ruined by the fact it is now business/a job first and foremost. Its all just very, very sad more than anything else.

Rant over!
