Wanting to bring Howson into the midfield because I think, at home at least, we need that extra attacking threat from CM and don't need to play both Tettey and Johnson.

What I disagreed with completely was Tettey being the one to make way rather than Johnson. This is not an anti Johnson post, more a pro Tettey post - i just feel that as the holding midfielder Tettey is far superior.

I knew Adams was going to do this after he took Tettey off on Tuesday night, a decision that I feel contributed in a small way to their goal because until that point we were camped in their half It showed Johnson was ahead in the pecking order and that worries me because a Johnson and Howson central midfield combo has never allowed us to control possession/games. Yes we had the better of it on Saturday but we never had complete control of that midfield and that (along with perhaps a touch more ambition) is why Rotherham looked more dangerous than Charlton and the game was end to end at times.
