It is also nice that he has the strength of his convictions to express them publicly. He's a human.

But really - he's not thought this through. He is an icon of 'British' sport in a way that very few people are. His Britishness is a big part of his domestic popularity. He drapes himself in Union flags.

Would it not have been just a little wiser to keep his counsel? Perhaps he doesn't give a s**t.
