No, it doesn't make a difference (yet)

if we (say) have half the season after Christmas and you're saying those 4 games can be counted out, then we have 15 games that count after Christmas. This is true whenever those 4 games are - a manager coming in at Christmas will have those 15 games.

Once you get PAST Christmas it makes a differemnce, because a new manager won't get all those 15 games, you'll have played some. But it provides no reason whatsoever to sack a manger in, say October, rather than December.
