Been spending quite a lot of time over the last couple of years not far from the Syrian border (in turkey) and when home still with people from that region. And turkey is partly to blame for stirring up the s**t as erdogan is trying to islamitise turkey and hates the alawites (and alevis).

And the Carla del ponte thing was swept under the carpet by the tabloids. I honestly have no idea why when that was stated by the UN that we continued to train and arm the increasingly jihadi groups who we also continue to refer to as one group of "rebels" for some reason, yet when Assad is accused of it (without a statement from the un) that we straight away want to bomb his forces.
