Any electricians on here?

All my power went off about 90 mins ago. Reset all the trip switches and have got all the circuits working OK bar one: the downstairs sockets.

So, I've unplugged everything, turned off all the mains sockets etc, but when I try and flick the trip switch for the circuit to "on", it trips the whole house. I have an eke trician booked for the morning, I just wondered if anyone has any ideas what the root of the problem may be? I genuinely haven't a clue. Sparky on the phone said it sounded like "an overpower problem" but I have no idea what that is or whether it's a genuine thing or not.

For the record the upstairs plug sockets work fine, ditto the lights (well, those with bulbs in that haven't previously blown)
