regimental system my civvy chum
most individual regiments and corps have royal titles. these are bestowed upon a regiment by the monarch when some bloody good soldiering has been done over a period of many years. the navy and the airforce dont have a regimental system as they are a collective groupage of scuttlebutts and shiny arse kite flyers so they get a cheap lite one shop stop version of royal patronage to make them feel valued.
