Avoid deptford
Canary wharf is only a stone's throw away if want bars etc, nightlife pretty decent for its size, quote a few places to drink along the strip by the docks.
Expect to be sharing the venues with bankers and some locals mind (not that that's a bad thing imo, just saying)
