Southampton Game relections
The back four played far too deep. When this happens the midfield always looks ragged as it has so much of the pitch to cover. It also hands the opposition a lot of space to play in. The forwards then become isolated.
We didn't use our fullbacks enough yesterday when playing out of defence. In the second half Garrido was often in space but Johnson choose to play the ball forward to an isolated Hoolahan. Southampton used Yoshida to create time and space to regain their positions.
Howson had a mare, which might well have been due to having the forwards well marked and no route back as the back four were too deep.
Turner was my man of the match. He has improved so much next to Bassong
