Just sue the c**ts McNally. Even if there was this supposed clause (and I don't believe there was) I don't see how it would entitle lambert to just end his contract. Firstly I'm not sure it would be a fundamental breach and secondly in my experience contracts would normally allow termination only if a breach is not rectified within a reasonable timescale.
