Going on previous situations with Lambert

I think it would be fair to say that his inscrutability doesn't really mean one thing either way. Him and McNally played everyone for fools over the Burnley episode and were this all to be a load of puff and nonsense in the end we can hardly say we weren't warned.

My personal hunch is that, like Worthington in his early days, he's going to be angling for more money this summer - both for him and the squad - and he wants it understood publicly that his loyalty must not be taken for granted.
