In the context of this being half way through a season I think it is important

it's all well and good picking up wins against the top sides, but that sort of thing never lasts. Blackpool beat quite a few good teams, but couldn't beat the dross.

2nd half of the season I imagine the good teams treated the Blackpool game with more respect and got the expected win. And Blackpool still failed to beat the dross.
