Very pleased with Lamberts first 2 signings. Plus some comments.
He has kind of hinted that he is now looking in other departments.
That leaves
Holt
Jackson
Martin
Vaughan
Morison
As the first line of out and out strikers.
Possibly Wilbraham and Oli Johnson as cover/loaned out.
Although I am not sure if Vaughan could fit in the Wes role or maybe Lambert is thinking Snodgrass who can play accross the park would be a great player to have at the tip of the diamond if we go with that formation.
Maybe giving him a free role would suit a player like Snodgrass.
2 down 5 (ish) to go.
The following are the rumoured targets.
Bradly Johnson
Elliot Bennet
Leon Osman
Robert Snodgrass
Ritchie De Laet
I think its fair to assume we wont buy all 3 of Bennet, Osman and Snodgrass.
So far no keeper or out and out CB has been linked.
Lambert has the option of waiting on a keeper as he has Ruddy and 2 young decent keepers.
He may be seeing how things pan out with FF and Newcastle.
Obviously we are very short at CB although we do have few players who could fill in
You tend to get a lot of injuries/suspensions at CB because of the nature of the job.
3 CBs is barely enough for a matchday alone.
We need at least 1 more having now lost Jens as well as Nelson.
Maybe 1 more quality CB and a player like Ritchie De Laet who can fill in accross the back.
The one thing that is obvious is that based on the players Lambert is after, he is not going to the prem to shut up shop. (Brum)
He is bringing in players to score goals and win games.
If nothing else we should be entertaining..........
It would be really amazing for British football if we could take the league by storm.
Maybe more of the PL clubs would start looking to the British leagues for talent rather than sending all the money out of the country.
This would help the game right down to the grass roots level.
