what like Simon Charlton or Graham Stuart?
Trouble is, players who are proven Prem quality and who are still believed to be able to play at that level are still much in demand by established Prem clubs, who can offer higher wages (and less potential for struggle) than us.
The only such players we could get would be ones other Prem teams don't think can hack it any more, so they'd essentially be no-longer of Prem quality but looking for one last Prem sized payday - exactly the sort of player teams of limited means like us should be steering well clear of becasue you are stuck with them (see Simon Charlton) if you get relegated.
I'd much rather have cheaper, hungrier players. We achieved what we did this year with a squad of players who were largely unproven at Champiosnhip level. Don't fall into the "more well-known = better" trap that overseas based fans who only get media coverage of the Prem tend to fall into. This isn't a pissing contest of "our signings are more famous than yours", its about creating a TEAM that can stay in the Prem or get back there if we do unfortunately get relegated)
