let me clarify,

I used to have an ipad but I found that although it was brilliant and i had plenty of uses, it was a little bit limited for some stuff so when the new MacBook Airs came out i got a 13" model, i can do everything i could on the ipad and more. I use photoshop, aperture and other high cpu resources with now problem. it's just over your budget though. I was gonna get the 11" model but the memory was to low, i wanted the 256Gb flash and that one only went up to 128Gb. The 11" one is well capable though. Just read all the reviews on the web. Loads of pro photographers are using them.

*But, depends if you need a disc drive. I don't so it worked great.*
