Absolutely TH...

I wasn't being judgemental on anything in my original post. It just occured to me that there were similarities to be drawn between two industries where performance to an audience is key. I wanted to see if this was a valid analogy or not. Don't think I'm any closer to discovering one way or the other, but it's provoked some interesting and worthwhile debate.

Thing is, there are plenty of radio sites/message boards, frequented by anoraks we call them. Basically nerds who scan up and down the radio dial and think they know everything about radio (although they can't seem to get a job in it) and it's all s**t anyway. It's easy to say, don't read those sites...your big enough, tough enough and well-paid enough to take the criticism on there. Doesn't mean to say that it's any easier to deal with. Sure we should be accountable, but it can be extremely unpleasant for people you don't know to say some shocking, nasty and sometimes untruthful things about you on a public forum. Not being patronising at all, but for people that would never quite be in that position, I think it's hard to understand what it can be like.
