The big problem with the last governments economic policies

wasn't that they spent it hand over fist on useless social policies; but that they spent it on several wars (of which two are still ongoing), the PFI scam (off balance sheet; but still got to be paid for), bailing out failed banks and allowing corporations to spirit away profits to avoid tax.

But the Tories appear to be doing nothing about any of those and instead taking it out on those least able to bear the burden.
