I thought it was dreadful and watched all those finals you mentioned

However international football is highly over rated and boring. The only good thing is a big tournament like the world cup due to grandness of it all, the fact it's every 4 years and the fact it's different nations competing against each in something that doesn't end in death and destruction.

Sad it's all over, always good for a laugh, but the actual quality of the games were very poor overall, a boring tournament won by a boring team, Spain winning is the footballing equivalent of Mike Leigh's secrets and lies winning the Palme D'or, I get it but didn't half put me to sleep.
