Compare and contrast - Japanese vs us
Both winning vs limited European team in final game of group. What do they do? They're all over their opponents, pressing from the front, looking for more goals. Danes barely get a look-in.
What did we do? Retreat into our shells and hope we can hang onto 1-0 - I swear I saw us playing for the corner flags with fully 15 minutes still to play.
Result? Completely predictably, we see the yanks go past us into the easy part of the draw. (Was I the only one yelling at the telly for us to press forward and try and get a second?) In the end, because we only managed to score 2 goals in 3 games.
Annoying.
