The iPad isn't meant as a pocket device, just as a magazine or newspaper isn't

I can imagine an iPad just sitting on my coffee table waiting to instantly switch on to check my email or check out a website.

I love my iPhone but wouldn't want to browse the net all evening on it. The iPhone is an on the go device, the iPad is a sit down and pick up like a newspaper device.
