I totally agree but.........

the point is as manager you have to sow the seeds.

if the players are not coming through thats down to the manager.
The fact he gave chances to so many players who were frankly not good enough suggests lack of judgement.

There are only so many loans available.

Most players are loaned out because they are either young and inexperienced, playing poorly or have a bad attitude.

Thats why its so tough to bring in loan players and make it work.

The fact is we caught Crouch and Hucks at a point where they were not highly regarded.
They needed games at the extact moment we needed some firepower up front (thats the luck factor)

We had a decent first 11 but very little strength in depth.
Because we had virtually no injuries the whole season we were not effected as other teams are by the lack of squad.

Worthy set the major seeds for our downfall, although Grant gave it the biggest shove.
