I'm quite a mouse expert as there's normally one a day

some dead, some alive. I normally catch the live ones and return them to the wild.

The other day though we found a dead rat under the car so I'm slightly nervous that the cat has moved up a notch. I don't think this one was actually rat-sized, just the large end scale of the mouse-size (think selwyn vs mbk). Anyway the second cat failed to pounce as I moved the magazine rack out of the way (where it had first sought refuge) so it scuppered under the bookshelves. I've shone a torch underneath but can't see anything. Cats have gone so it's just the rodent and me.
