That could be a bit chicken-and-egg

They appear to have people in mind to bring on to the board, but I would assume they are still trying to convince them. Do they wait for their prospective new board members to make up their minds, or do they do something now so that the manager can start getting things in line for next year? What happens if they sit on their hands and then the new board members say no?

I think Keith Harris' brief is quite straightforward. By preference, find someone who can buy up the whole shooting-match, but otherwise at least bring us someone with cash. The key there is that they want to feel they are selling the club to someone with the club at heart, not some random nutter looking for a photo op. Again, the longer it goes on the lower the goalposts become: ideally they'd like Randy Lerner, if it comes to the crunch they may have to settle for Thaksin Shinawatra.
