they should have taken the "dependent on outcome" Southampton approach
i.e. if Stockport get relegated this year with 10 points taken off (i.e. the deduction does affect them adversely) the 10 points count - if they stay up and it doesn't then the deduction comes off next year.
This contingent approach should apply to all admins that happen this late (i.e. after the deadline), when teams have a good idea how it will affect them. If it hurts you you get it, if it doesn't you get it next year.
