I don't think they see it as failure

I think it is simply that the amounts of money required to make an impact in football now are vastly different from when they took over.

When they bought the club their wealth was sufficient to make a difference. Now it isn't, hence they want out.

They are continuing to put money into the club but because it isn't sufficient to push the club forward they just get personal abuse. Why would anyone want that situation to continue?
