In theory its quicker than 3.6 as you have 2 processors so the theory is

it performs better than a single processor of double speed.
THe tasks sent for processing can run concurrently rather than having to queue up so get finished quicker.

That's a basic explanation as I understand it, I could be very wrong!

Lack of restore disks not a massive problem, you can probably create a restore to a CD (possibly size issue though) or a restore point straight up to CD which will work in a smiliar way.
