It's likely to be nowhere near twice as quick even doing two tasks at once

Also depends whether it's true dual core (ie. two processors) or whether it's one of those that looks like it has two processors but really only has one (I forget what that's called...). The latter doesn't really give much benefit in my experience with work PCs.

However, from the spec it looks fine for a little old lady.
