Iran poses no more serious a threat to British interests today than it did 48 hours ago and this is just desperate intellectual contortion to try to justify what he’s doing

The facts are (a) that we are so deeply embedded into the US military structure on this side of the Atlantic, because it has always been assumed that we would work together, that it really pisses them off if we don’t co-operate, and (b) that for a host of military, economic and diplomatic reasons, we can’t afford to piss them off

That’s why Starmer changed his mind and the “we’re defending ourselves” spin is just bulls**t
