He should have sounded out and lined up someone before he arrived

It was absolutely, blatantly obvious what he was going to have to do. It was and still is a huge opportunity for him to make his mark and re-set the club in the same way Mcnally did. Differentiate himself from the previous regime and make a fresh start.

That he has not yet done it is, for me, a huge "concern." He is at risk of already losing the fans.
