Car leasing

I've seen lingscars.com listed here before so I know there are some knowledgeable people here : )

Couple of quick questions:
Is it worth getting a service/maintenance package or is it better to get done separately?
Any other gotchas worth avoiding? I know options have to be looked at carefully as you pay for it all split over your term but I am basically going for the basic stock vehicle so am currently looking purely on price - are there any cowboys worth avoiding that might try to hit me with hidden costs, etc.?
