Been battling resistant extra weight for a while now. Agree with your

sentiments about expertise etc. Everyone has a different metabolism and some diets will work better than others. Your point about less carb higher fat fits with the keto diet ( note not Atkins which is mental) which basically says reduce the amount of sugars you injest. A huge amount we are not even aware of due to modern food methods. The key to dieting is achieving a calorie deficit of some kind. Thats how 5:2 works in essence. Running loads of miles does not necessarly help. Your body will fight you and give you major hunger which defeats the calorie deficit. Personally I have found that on 5:2 my insulin levels do not drop unless I actually fast for 48hrs. Sounds tough but actually not as bad as you think. I manage on average 2kilo drop every 48hr fast.

There is loads of really good info on Keto and intermittent fasting but I would recommend watching vidoes from these videos.
