For 20 weeks. £1m cost. In any event Mitrovic was an example

A very pertinant example given where Fulham have been in the table and we have been in the table for much of the season but the point is about a calculated move to actually try and get promoted rather than pinning everything on a long term strategy that equally offers no guarantees other than its going to get harder every year to compete.

We had just sold Pritchard for £12m, We have sold millions and millions of piunds worth of players and we have players we can/will sell in the summer for £30m plus if we don;t go up. We could have afforded to get an established striker on loan for a few months to have a bit of a go - it may have paid off, it may not but in my viewe are playing well enough to have gone on a run had we been more clinical/physical up front. we didnt try because we are not interested in going up, all we are interested in is implementing re-structure which is aimed at little more than enabling Delia and MWJ and longer term Tom to retain ownership of the club.

Planning for the long term is fine and indeed prudent, sensible and unavoidable but it does not have to be at the expense of still trying a bit to succeed in the short term.
