all the talk about budget is misguided. We are not skint. We have spent quite a bit of money this season, we've just spent most of playing the long game, rather than really going for promotion in the season when we still have Maddison, Pritchard, Gunn etc..

Perhaps it will work out in the long run, but perhaps it won't. Maybe this season was our best chance of promotion for the next 5 years or so given the players available. I'm not sure why some of the people critical of your opinion can't see that playing the long game is a gamble just as much as really going for it this season would have been. It's really not a black and white situation.
