My point isn't whether he'd actually be able to do it or not.

It's that, in a live tv debate, he's said he wants to.

In any other democracy, or at any other time, that would be enough, right there and then, to rule him out of the election completely. People would immediately recognise that a wannabe-fascist had somehow invaded the process, and would be completely horrified.

But this time, it seems not even to be the most noteworthy thing he said. And people are even talking about him having had a 'good debate'. Or at least, not a disastrous one.

It's incredible.
