Istanbul is just amazing

I spent a week there 5 years ago and wished it could have been two

The history and culture is extraordinary, there are SO MANY things to see from SO MANY eras

Excellent food (not wine!)

Such a sense of the exotic

Proper Turkish baths

Lots to buy if you like buying stuff (rugs and silks and hangings and ceramics and and and ...)

Could do without the call to prayer being amplified electronically though. I think that's cheating, Johnny Prayer-Shouter ought to be made to operate on raw lung power

Absolutely amazing place
