Worthy spent almost as much as Roeder on loans, but he achieved success

Well between 01-04 anyway! Not sayin those loans were the reason for his successes (Nicky Southall and Andy Roberts?) but you can get away with expensive mistakes when you're doing well (Neil Emblen!). He got slagged to f**k wheh he signed the Rehmanns of this world, probably more due to our horror of an 05-06.

The thing about Roeders perm signings is the biggest head scratcher, they were all decent to good signings and most were frees (like you mentioned), I just wish he'd have used a policy like this for his whole squad because he has an eye for a good player. Yet his loans in 08-09 were mostly terrible, (like Gunns s**t cheap signings, lol) maybe this was due to his man management and they knew they were back off to their parent clubs soon enough?
