Anyone good at making up stories ?

Mrs. In Holland told friends of ours we would pop by and "feed" their s**tarses this weekend while the owners were in the UK.

Since it was minus 10, snowing, roads jammed and dangerous (required motorway drive), trains were f**ked and it was only to give them some treats anyway (they had plenty of cat food and water), we decided to wait until today.

She's just got there, called me and told me one of the s**tarses (their favourite) is dead. Apparently still food and water there. I asked if it was injured or any other signs of ill health and she replied "he's a bit cold".

What's the most original story you can come up with ?
