And yes, I do think appointing Gunn is a mistake: a huge one, based on his zero qualifications to do the job. "Trying to save the club"? That's a club with 18000 plus STs already signed up, and sitting on God knows what in terms of assets. A better way of "saving the club" would've involved actually appointing someone with a track record for once.
I pointed out a number of the mistakes when they were made, and was widely lambasted for "not getting behind the club". The same bunch of incompetents now expect us to take it on trust that all will somehow be fine; but have not as yet made any real substantive changes, and we currently have a board with only three people. I think it's embarrassing, and am well, well past the point of giving them the benefit of the doubt. That they offered the rebate without being able to afford it is yet another sign of their ineptitude.
