comparing Glen vs. Jim transfers

I suppose I was looking at the difference it makes to have an established manager in charge rather than a rookie.

Jim seems to be buying players he's played with before or players that he really wants (eg.Norris) but paying over the odds. The striking thing is that there never seems to be a plan B transfer wise.

With Roeder you just know that if he misses out on a player that there's always other irons in the fire (missing out on Iversen - Sibierski & Cort come in, sell shaks - Stefanovic, Kennedy, Grounds, omozuzi come in).

Not even the best managers have 100% success records in the transfer market. Considering our perilous financial state Roeder seems to be assembling a decent squad on the quiet and only spending money in very calculated, but reasonably effective way.

It gets tricky for strikers (cost more money and anyone decent will likely get snapped up), but using loans to plug that gap seems a reasonable tactic in the short term. Hopefully some money will get freed up and we can start putting out a settled starting 11.
