In fact I would argue that we were good enough to win Spain82, Italia90, Euro96, Euro04.

I also thought that Hoddle's team of 98 were also potentially good enough to go all the way but again we were denied but the Campbell goal that was disallowed and of course our time honoured inability to convert a shoot out. Since 2004 we have shown no hint of being able to win anything. In fact, we are now worried about qualification for any tournament.
