Indeed, through his whole 'i know better' approach.

Change the tone of the article, get rid of the feel that he's spoiling for a fight and he might have just written something that would do some good.

He won't reach the more entrenched, that's impossible.
However a much clearer calmer piece may have worked on those in the middle ground, who are after all the most important in all this.

Get those back on side and the smudgers of this world are nothing more than minor irritants.

Real real shame, becuase his main points are excellent, and its really interesting to see how this whole 'investment' thing started in the first place.
