of our quoted companies have 'control'.

But they don't demand to chair the board - rather, they pick people to do it.

Of course it's a bit different with a single majority shareholder - you'd expect him/her to be more involved than that. But you wouldn't expect them to necessarily want to do the day-to-day running of the club. Which is one way of interpreting what he's saying.
