I guess I'm just a bit more straight forward thinking

and at the time ?7.5m was a great deal for someone who was injured. We'd have only seen him really and truely injured in months to come and then bought for ?3m

Like you say though, I guess that's not the point either

I think it's better to think about it objectively. Sutton didn't and only wanted to play for us, and we shunned him

A lot of the time, players who show genuinely support for a club often don't get it re paid. Therefore I don't very often see a player as a judas. I did with Marshall, and to an extent with Kenton, but I liked Kenton, and I also understood that a player wants to better himself

I liked bellers, but over time his persistent lack of maturity and disruptiveness made me dislike him. He did go right off at Bobby Robson after our game. Yes it was due to not being able to beat us cos he likes us, but he also chose a very calculated/ or foolish moment to do as Shearer was out of the team and the fans already didn't like that

The repercutions of Robson losing his job after that game, is something Newcastle haven't got over since. I'm not saying Bellamy is fully to blame, but just for once, he could have just been professional and kept out of it, but he couldn't

A bit like last night, he could have again, just for once, not said anything, but he couldn't help himself. Luckilly, it's a bit of a laugh for us cos it was a bit a slanging at Ipswich fans

The mentality remains though, and I think it's something that doesn't do his career any favours in the slightest

We also only hear about the things that are reported. I can wager there's much much more he's said, done and foolishly been responsible for, that will have been vastly swept under the carpet

A little like what Roeder is trying to tell us when he sacked a lot of the backroom staff. I doubt we'll ever get to the bottom of that, but Roeder was subliminally telling us that this clubs problem go from right to the bottom upwards, not just on the pitch or in the boardroom
