You'll never win, just have to hold your nerve and ignore

pointless, even if you feel strongly about it, you've just described someone that will only listen to themselves

There's a guy I work with who just holds his viewpoint 100% of the time, and if he knows you don't agree, he makes it his mission to go on and on about it

Not only that, he never lets you in talk, the only time there's a gap to do so, is when he's thinking of something he's forgotten to evidence his point

At that moment you'll come into the conversation and try and say your bit. Half way through the sentence he'll remember what he was thinking and carry on talking

I ignore him as much as I can

He's married but I couldn't understand how so when a conversation with him exists on him talking alone. So one day I just said "did you meet your wife online"

He said yeah and how did I know, and I told him because it's the only place where he'd actually listen to someone else, because in real life a conversation is just him

After that I tried to talk to him, and I'd physically make him shut up so I could come into the convo, and he still doesn't listen. He knows he does it and to a certain extent he doesn't care

So in the morning after game on the tv, he comes to my desk and goes "did you see the game?", I'll go yeah, and I'll just let him stand there and talk at me until he stops, and goes away

It's the only way
