I guess you have to make some political allowances though: both in terms of attitudes he'll have grown up around, and the need not to get involved in controversy on the eve of a big tournament now. I was disgusted by what he did to poor Laurent Blanc - but like most people, he's won me round now.

Agree that Croatia are a definite threat: I have them surprising Portugal in the last 8, before losing to the Germans in the semis. Like you, I think it has to be Germany who win it - though I have them beating the generally unfancied Oranje in the final.
