To me, the only answer to energy problems, carbon emissions etc
is to encourage people to work from home.
Obviously, you can't for loads of jobs but most of the millions who work in an office probably could, esp with video calling etc.
The problem is that those who run British business just love presenteeism, they love to see you sitting at your desk.
If we worked on results - ie by the amount of work that actually gets done instead - we'd cut millions of commuter journeys a week, local services like shops would reap the reward and - if my experience is anything to go by, people would be a whole lot happier.
Anyone got a stepladder to get me off this soapbox?
