I suspect
that much of what is "known" is not actually so.
Example - land sale = new stand. Well hardly; land sale generated *around* 6 mill and the new stand cost around 9 mill.
OK, so the club talked it up as though the land would pay for the stand. On the other hand we only had to find 3 mill for a new stand that cost 9 million (the kind of deal that Robert Chase would have been proud of).
And as for how the debt has grown, well it has. But it is not huge debt (Fulham have huge debt; Arse have huge debt; Citeh & Boro have huge debt) and without the locked box deal we would not have had 03/04. And I loved 03/04.
Lastly (god, i'm getting like bigfella) when Chase left everyone thought that he had fleeced the club, whereas in fact it was all accounted - but it is only now that the benefits of infills, Colney & the flour mill are appreciated (he was still a cnut though).
